Our Commitment to You
All products sold through FDM Printing are guaranteed under Australian Consumer Law. We stand behind every product and ensure your rights as a consumer are fully protected.
Consumer Guarantees
Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), you are automatically entitled to consumer guarantees for all products purchased from FDM Printing. These guarantees cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified and include:
- Acceptable Quality: Products must be of acceptable quality, meaning they are:
- Safe, durable, and free from defects
- Acceptable in appearance and finish
- Fit for all the purposes for which products of that kind are commonly supplied
- Fit for Purpose: Products must be reasonably fit for any disclosed purpose and for any purpose for which you make known to us
- Match Description: Products must match their description, any sample or demonstration model shown to you
- Match Sample: If you buy a product by reference to a sample, it must correspond with the sample in quality
- Repairs and Spare Parts: We must provide facilities for repair of goods and supply of parts for a reasonable period after purchase
Your Rights When Products Fail
If a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you have the right to:
- Repair: Request that we repair the product at no cost to you
- Replacement: Request a replacement product of identical type
- Refund: Receive a full refund if the failure is major, or if we cannot repair or replace the product within a reasonable time
- Compensation: Claim compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage
A failure is considered "major" if:
- The product would not have been acquired by a reasonable consumer if they had known about the problem
- The product is substantially unfit for its normal purpose and cannot easily be made fit within a reasonable time
- The product is unsafe
3D Printed Products
All 3D printed products sold through FDM Printing are subject to the same consumer guarantees. This includes:
- Products must be printed to the specifications and quality standards described
- Products must be free from printing defects that affect functionality or appearance
- Products must be made from materials suitable for their intended use
- Products must match the images and descriptions provided
If a 3D printed product fails to meet these standards, you have the same rights to repair, replacement, or refund as with any other product.
How to Make a Claim
If you believe a product you purchased does not meet a consumer guarantee:
- Contact Us: Reach out to our support team via the Support page or email us at support@fdmprinting.com.au
- Provide Details: Include your order number, product details, and a description of the issue
- Photos: If applicable, provide photos showing the defect or issue
- Resolution: We will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include repair, replacement, or refund as appropriate
Time Limits
While consumer guarantees apply for a reasonable period after purchase, the time you have to make a claim depends on:
- The type of product and its expected lifespan
- The nature of the problem
- How long a reasonable consumer would expect the product to last
Generally, you should contact us as soon as you become aware of any issue. For major failures, you have the right to a refund or replacement regardless of how long you've had the product.
